Pet transport from Canada; Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver to London / Gatwick / Manchester / Glasgow dependent on routing (direct flights only).
Your pet can travel on a European pets passport or non commercial EU veterinary certificate.
Pets Passport
Your vet must stamp and sign the clinical examination page of the passport stating that your pet is fit to travel.
Dogs must also be treated against tapeworm, not less than 24 hours and not more than 120 hours before scheduled arrival time in UK. The treatment must be administered and entered in the pets passport by your vet.
If a rabies vaccination has been entered in the pets passport by a non EU vet, then the Non Commercial EU Veterinary Certificate should be used.
Non Commercial EU Veterinary Health Certificate
Your pet must first be micro chipped and then vaccinated against rabies, 21 days after the date of vaccination the pet may travel to the EU. We will forward a blank copy of the veterinary certificate to you if required.
The certificate must be completed by your vet and endorsed by the local CIFA office* and is then valid for 10 days.
The certificate must be accompanied by :
– A micro chip certificate or a letter from your vet stating that the micro chip was read before the rabies vaccination was given. Then they must list the micro chip number and the rabies vaccination details and the date the vaccination was given (one per pet).
– Rabies vaccination certificate. This MUST have the micro chip number and all the rabies vaccination details on (one per pet) this must show brand, manufacturer, serial number, date given, date due.
– Fit to fly / heath check – this is a letter from your vet stating that your pet is fit and healthy for travel, stating that he also read the micro chip and then listing the micro chip details (one per pet).
The CFIA will require evidence that the owner or owner’s representative is travelling within 5 days of the pet
If the owner or owner’s representative does not travel within 5 days of the pet then the commercial EU veterinary certificate must be used, the requirements are basically the same as the non commercial certificate except DEFRA will have to attend your pets arrival, we will arrange this.
